Hello Kitty

Hello Kitty quilt was going to be a whole nursery set. Umm at least I finally finished the quilt a few weeks after "Baby Jo" was born.

If the iPhone blogger app would let me label the photos, I would give them some captions. Oh well. Here are some in-progress pics of how it became to be.

Last Call! Rainbow Charm SWAP - Swap is full

I do need the following to send me a message that will include their information (name and email address is all that is necessary for now).

The plan


1. Each person will be assigned a color. Once all the swap slots are filled, I will email you your color assignment. (red, pink, purple, blue, aqua, green, yellow, orange)

2. Purchase TWO separate yards of fabric in your assigned color.

*No solids please. Take note of the scale of the print as large prints are not best for charm squares. Pick something you LOVE!

Feel free to choose something that has some other colors in it, as long as the fabric reads your color. (Meaning, if you stand back to look at the fabric, there is no question as to what color it is.)

3. Fabric must be designer label, 100% cotton, quality fabric.
No Hancocks, Joanns or Michael's fabrics.

4. Fabric must be new and unwashed and must come from a smoke free environment.

5. Before sending your fabric to me, cut your fabric into 5" x 5" charm squares.

Press your fabric before cutting. You may want to purchase a slight overage in case you make mistakes cutting your charms.
1 yard = 56 charm squares (5" x 5".)

6. Put your fabric in a ziplock bag and include a 3x5 index card with your name, email address, mailing address, fabric info (designer, manufacturer, line, color.) I will compile a master list of fabrics and email it to you once the swap is complete.


7. In your envelope, include, the charms in ziplock, the index card a PREPAID SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE for me to mail your charms back to you.

8. After all participants have signed up, I will set a deadline for when all charms must be in my hands (approximately a month after the color assignments). I will mail charms back to you the following week.

I will create a Flickr group so we can post pictures of your fabric so we won't have any repeats.

Swap is full!

Since starting my job, after a 12+ hour day, I always miss the swaps! To top it off, I don't have enough followers to host my own :(

I've decided to put it out there and see if I can get enough participants. I'm not on the prowl for followers because I don't blog often enough (and I don't put a lot of effort into it bwahahah) to keep people's attention. BUT, If I can get enough people, I will also host more swaps,

So tell your friends. Pin it. Send it along. I need more charms!

I'll be looking for 55 participants that can purchase two yards in an assigned color. The first 55 people who send me a message or comment here will be signed up. If, by the grace of God, I actually get enough participation and then some, I will prepare for another round :).

"Grape Soda with a Splash of Lemon"

My all-time favorite quilt.

Ever.

I started this quilt for myself (I never craft for myself). Then, I decided to give it to someone else. I was sooo in love with it, I took it back for myself. Then, I decided to give it to someone else. Then myself.


All the while, it is still a WIP.

When I finished "Grape Soda with a Splash of Lemon," it was clear that it did not belong to me. The love I put in this quilt needed to have an owner who would love having it even more than I would.

My daughter's best friend (aka my other daughter) was the true owner of this quilt.

Kat got it for Christmas. She has been more attached to Grape Soda with a Splash of Lemon than Linus was with his blanket.

It was hers all along.

Mosaic progress!

I've finished the quilt top as well as the back! It's. Huge quilt. Approximately 96" x 96".

Quilt top has an assortment of tan prints arranged into a mosaic block. The sashing is a solid pink.

The quilt back has an assortment of pinks/rose prints arranged into a mosaic block. The sashing is solid tan.

There is one print that has both tan and pink included in all of the blocks.

I'm going to assume that my whole seven followers aren't too interested in fabric designers and where it was purchased.,..so just be aware that I used the good stuff. ;)

Elizabeth Hartman - oh how I love thee

I feel like Elizabeth Hartman's crazy stalker fan. (www.ohfransson.com).I think that if I ever meet Elizabeth, I will probably scream and faint like a crazy fan.


This Mosaic design is another brilliant idea that Elizabeth came up with. I saw this and just had to do one just like it!

The mosaic quilt is still on progress. I've finished the quilt top and I'm working on the back now.


Elizabeth also designed some adorable quilted doorstops. Dude. Between keeping doors open or keeping doors closed...this was perfect for me! I made two!
